Somanathpur is 140 kms away from Bangalore, The Chennakasava temple renowned for its great Hoyasala architecture.  The temple town is not very touristy, the temple complex is maintained by Archeological survey of India.

It was a Sunday, a bit cloudy in Bangalore, I craved for sunshine or may be getting out of the house. I had my breakfast and hit the road, it took me 3 hours to reach Somanathpur, I was mesmerized by the temple architecture and felt like I have flown back in time.

Details about the temple and how it was built can be found here Somanathpura .
